The New Zealand Post Book Awards for Children and Young Adults are selected across four categories: Picture Book, Nonfiction, Junior Fiction, and Young Adult Fiction.  They reward excellence in children’s literature, recognizing the best books for children and young adults published annually in New Zealand.  The New Zealand Post has sponsored the award since 1997. Winners receive $3,750.
